Submit a release

Press releases are welcome, paid, and labelled. Here is exactly how we handle them.

The short version

IgniteIt Cybersecurity publishes press releases as a paid, clearly labelled, non-editorial service. A release carries a Press Release tag, sits in its own section, is excluded from search engine indexing, and is never written, rewritten or endorsed by our newsroom. Nobody on our staff gets a byline on it.

Paying for a release buys distribution to our audience. It does not buy coverage, it does not buy a mention in Patch Notes, and it does not buy any softening of a story we are already working on. If we are reporting something about your company, placing a release will not change it, and our reporters will not know that you bought one.

What we accept

  • Funding rounds, acquisitions and strategic investments
  • Executive and board appointments, including CISO hires
  • Product and service launches aimed at security buyers
  • Partnerships, channel agreements and certifications (FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
  • Research and threat reports, with a link to the full report and its methodology
  • Customer wins, with the customer named and consenting

What we turn down

We do not publish releases that name a breach victim without their consent, that claim to stop all attacks, or that cite “independent testing” we cannot find. Releases built around fear of a specific real-world incident are out. So is anything we cannot attribute to a named company and a named contact.

We also decline releases about a company that is the subject of an active investigation by our newsroom, for the whole period of the investigation. That is a rule we apply to ourselves, not a judgement about you.

How to send one

Email partners@igniteitcybersecurity.com with the release as plain text or a Word document, any images as separate attachments at 1200px or wider, and the name, title, email and phone of a person we can call. Include the embargo date and time with a time zone if there is one; we honour embargoes we have accepted and we will tell you if we cannot.

Rates and the schedule for newsletter placements are on the advertising page. If you are not sure whether something is a release or a story, send it to editorial@igniteitcybersecurity.com instead and let our newsroom decide — that costs nothing.

Corrections

If a published release contains an error, write to editorial@igniteitcybersecurity.com and we will correct it on the same terms as our own copy. Our corrections policy applies to everything on this site, paid or not.
