What IgniteIt Cybersecurity collects when you read the site or subscribe to a newsletter, who else can see it, and how to get it removed.
Last updated 24 October 2026.
IgniteIt Cybersecurity is published by IgniteIt Inc. This policy covers igniteitcybersecurity.com and the email products we send from it. We have written it to be read rather than to be survived, so it is shorter than most. Where it is vague, that is because the thing it describes does not exist yet, and we will update this page when it does.
What we collect
When you subscribe. Your email address, plus whatever else you choose to put on the form — usually name, company and role. We ask for a work address because this is a trade publication and that field is how we know whether we are reaching the industry we claim to cover.
When you read. Our host keeps standard web server logs: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the time, and the referring page. These exist for security and troubleshooting, they rotate on the host’s schedule, and we do not join them to subscriber records.
When you open an email. Once our newsletters begin sending, the platform that holds our subscriber list and sends our email will record opens and link clicks against your subscriber record. We use that to decide what to write more of, and to stop mailing addresses that have gone quiet. You can defeat open tracking by blocking remote images in your mail client.
We do not want your stolen data
If you are sending us a tip about an incident, please do not send us data taken in a breach, credentials, or anything that identifies a customer or employee of the victim. Describe what you have and we will tell you whether we need to see any of it. Its presence makes a story harder to publish rather than easier.
Cookies and third parties
The market ticker. The scrolling quotes at the top of the page are an embedded widget served by TradingView. It loads from TradingView’s own servers, can set its own cookies, and can see your IP address and the page you are on. We do not control it and we receive no data back from it.
Hosting. The site runs on GoDaddy managed WordPress hosting. GoDaddy processes server logs and security data on our behalf as our hosting provider.
Subscribe and enquiry forms. When our forms go live they will be hosted by HighLevel and embedded on this site from leadconnectorhq.com. Submitting one sends what you typed, along with your IP address, to HighLevel, who hold it as our processor. Loading a page that contains one of these forms can set HighLevel’s own cookies before you type anything.
Analytics. We do not run a general analytics or advertising tracker on this site — no advertising pixel, no cross-site retargeting. If that changes we will name the provider here before it goes live, not after.
Beyond the third parties named above, we set no cookies of our own except the session cookies WordPress needs for anyone logging in to the newsroom.
How we use what we collect
To send you the newsletters you asked for. To keep the site up and defend it from abuse. To understand, in aggregate, which coverage is landing. To contact you about something you sent us. That is the list.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Advertisers and sponsors get aggregate audience figures. They do not get your email address or a list of who you are. If we ever run a sponsored programme where an advertiser does receive your details, it will say so plainly at the point you hand them over, and it will be optional.
The exceptions are the ordinary ones: service providers who process data to run the publication on our behalf under contract, and disclosure where the law genuinely requires it.
Your choices
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe. It works immediately and we do not make you explain yourself.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it corrected, or ask us to delete it. Email editorial@igniteitcybersecurity.com and we will action it within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently afterwards for having asked.
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA — to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be retaliated against. We honour all of them. Residents of the EU and UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for the newsletter is your consent; for server logs and security, our legitimate interest in keeping the site running.
Retention
We keep subscriber records for as long as you are subscribed, and for a short period afterwards so that an unsubscribe is not undone by a later import. Server logs rotate on our host’s schedule. When you ask us to delete you, we delete you.
Children
IgniteIt Cybersecurity is a business publication for people who run, buy and finance security. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
When this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and say what changed.
